KOREAN SPICY PORK HIDDEN RECIPE: YUMMIEST JAEYOOK BOKUM EVER!

COOKING TIME: <15 MINUTES
COOKING LEVEL: ★☆☆☆☆

Most Jaekyook Bokum recipes require 2 hours of marination and Gochujang as the main sauce. Don't you feel waiting takes too long, even more than cooking itself, especially when you are starving? Here is the easiest, fastest recipe you could ever have for the yummiest Korean Spicy Pork (Guaranteed).
*The original recipe from the most popular restaurant for Jaeyook Bokum in Korea
*http://www.kbs.co.kr/2tv/sisa/livetong/recipe/sonmat/

INGREDIENTS (SERVES THREE TO FOUR )
  • 600g Pork Shoulder (I used 4 slices of pork belly instead)
  • 1/8 Cabbage
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 2 Green Onions
  • 2 Chungyang Red Peppers
MARINATE PORK WITH:
  • 2Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/2Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • A pinch of Black Pepper (Korean Huchu, 후추)
"54321" SAUCE
* Marinate the sauce for 30 mins in the fridge (I don't follow this step though)
  • 5Tbsp Corn Syrup
  • 4Tbsp Korean Chilli Powder (Gochugaru, 고춧가루)
  • 3Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2Tbsp Minced Onions (using a food processor could be a better idea here)
  • 1Tbsp  Soju (or any available cooking wine)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • A pinch of Black Pepper (Korean Huchu, 후추)

DIRECTIONS
1. Thinly slices (or dices) onions, cabbage and green onions.

2. In a large bowl, toss sliced pork with marinade. Leave it in the fridge for 20 minutes (which I don't do it unless I have time. Again, it still tastes good).
3. Heat a wok over medium heat, and toss marinated pork.
4. When the pork turns brownish add the marinated sauce over high heat.
5. Add cabbage, onions and Chungyang red pepper (I did not use the red pepper this time), and cook for 2 minutes.
6. Add green onions and one more tablespoon of Korean chilli powder. Cook for 30 seconds more.
7. Place on a plate and garnish with sesame seeds and red pepper.

* Try Jaeyookbokum wrapping in a crisp lettuce leaf! Yummmmm
