MARUTAMA RAMEN: CHEWY NOODLES IN RICH CHICKEN BROTH

MARUTAMA RAMEN is a small cute franchised ramen shop located on Bidwell Street along with other famous restaurants nearby. Marutama is famous for their umami (=savoury) chicken broth for the soup base. They use chicken feet and the chicken's meatier abdominal sections to extract the maximum savoury flavour. Their uniquely-made chicken broth is the only option for the soup base. 

TAMAGO CHASU RAMEN had a soft-boiled egg and roast pork fillets in rich chicken broth. I added every seasoning I found on the table. Chicken broth tasted better than I expected. It was lighter than pork broths but was still rich in flavour. After finishing a bowl, I added an extra Kae-dama (noodle refill) for $1.25. Ahhh so guilty! It was the best ramen I've had in Vancouver.  
I wish they had more options for toppings. Available add-on toppings were just basic Tamago, Chashu (Sliced roast pork), Kakuni (Braised pork belly) and Aosa (Sea lettuce). Their side menu items look pretty simple, but appealing to me! I want to try their Kakuni on a next visit.

PROS
+ Rich, flavourful chicken soup base 
+ Cute interior 
+ Kind, attentive servers
+ Some seats were designed for a person who eats alone
+ Convenient location (when you walk)
+ Boxes underneath the chairs for personal belongings

CONS
- Tiny chairs.. I am a tiny person but still found it uncomfortable.
- Not many food/topping/soup base choices
