My parents, J and I came here for the Alaskan King Crab dinner. We usually go to the ones in Richmond, but since we were in Metrotown area we headed over to Top Cantonese Restaurant which is located pretty close from South Burnaby. I was excited about our dinner because the restaurant claims itself they are the top Cantonese restaurant, but at the same time I was a bit suspicious about it.
For the first course, we got Alaskan King Crab Legs which are basically steamed crab legs topped with lots of finely chopped garlic and green onions. It was a tad disappointing because the legs were kind of skinny and didn't have enough meat on the inside.
For the second course, we got Spicy Deep Fried Alaskan King Crab Knuckles. The knuckles were lightly battered and fried with chilies, jalapenos, garlic and peppers. This one tasted better than the first course, but it didn't have enough meat. By this point, we decided to order one more dish.
Baked Alaskan King Crab Fried Rice with Portuguese Curry Sauce was the last course as similar to all other King Crab course meal in Chinese restaurant. The fried rice was cooked with some crab meat and scallops, and then baked inside the crab shell head. It's not really a Portuguese dish as the name indicates, but rather a Chinese version of the baked Portuguese rice. The rice was topped with some cream sauce which was made out of tomalley and curry sauce. Surprisingly this was the best dish of the dinner. The fatty, meaty scallops tasted better than the crab meat as well.
Upon request, the manager gave us the Chicken with Choy Sum dish (not on the menu). It was alright but noting special. Overall, everything tasted just average. We were all disappointed especially when we consider the price - $400+ in total. I wouldn't bother returning.

+ Good for family gathering
+ Manager was helpful
+ Open til late (2:30am)

- All other servers were unfriendly and rude.
- Over-priced
- King Crab didn't seem like 10lbs...
- Not really a "Top Cantonese Restaurant"
